This is a place to rediscover your brave. We are all brave, but most of us have forgotten that. We spend our time and effort hiding behind excuses and labels. Most that we give ourselves. We will cover internal topics/struggles as well as big events outside of our control. And how we pick ourselves up and learn to be brave again after life knocks us flat. (I learned to be brave and when cancer took my dad I felt I lost it all.) Now I am setting off on a journey to be the brave person I have always wanted to be. Come with me as we take little steps to be brave and build the lives we want. Especially when things don‘t go according to plan. Follow the journey @findingpawnee on Instagram.

032. Brave Enough to Stop Living in FOMO and Go To Sleep
Wednesday Jun 08, 2022

Let’s talk sleep. More specifically, what we are giving up by not sleeping. Because it is important, no matter what people claim. And staying awake when we know we need to sleep, for no reason, is just letting fear drive the bus. It is allowing our FOMO (FEAR of missing out) to keep us in a fog. And ironically, keep us from truly being able to live our best life.
Join me as we talk sleep. How being brave really can be as simple as turning the lights off and crawling in bed. How taking back our lives can start with saying, “I am done for today.” And allowing yourself to rest. It is a huge brave masquerading as a little brave. Because to sleep as much you need to go against the popular grain. Living in fear (FOMO) is following a massive crowd. And it takes brave to walk away and do your own thing.
Full disclaimer, I am neither a doctor nor a scientist. What I am however is a person who has learned the hard way the importance of sleep. Hard-won wisdom through trial and error. Lots of trial and error. But you don’t need to be a doctor or scientist to understand that the human body is amazing. Twenty minutes with a book or documentary will inform you of that. It can do so much, but only if we give it what it needs to flourish.
And if you are a parent with small children, this probably does not apply to you. :)
